Cursed is a 2005 werewolf film directed by Wes Craven with monster designs by Rick Baker. The film follows brother and sister Jimmy and Ellie Myers as they realise that they have become infected by lycanthropy, and attempt to free themselves from its curse.
The film was heavily modified to "increase its audience"; first to make Ellie and Jimmy siblings (originally they were strangers who fell in love); and then to remove enough violence to hit a PG rating. The theatrical version was a disaster, and only with the more violent unrated cut was the film made watchable. Rick Baker of An American Werewolf In London fame had been tapped for the original film, but little of his work remained in the final film.
Joanie[]
Throughout the film, while Jimmy and Ellie are discovering their mystical condition, a werewolf is running wild in LA, murdering at will. Eventually it turns out that this bloodthirsty wolf is not the one that infected the siblings, but Joanie, a rival of Ellie's and former girlfriend of the original werewolf. She had been infected accidentally, and in prime tsundere fashion decided to take her frustrations out on all the women who the werewolf, club owner Jake Taylor, fancied. She attacks Ellie in Jake's club, but is gunned down by the police.
